Chennai: The NEET-UG exam for medical courses is set to take place on May 5th, with the application deadline open until March 9th.

NEET, also known as the National Eligibility and Entrance Test, is a crucial examination for admissions to MBBS, BDS, Siddha, Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathic, and Veterinary courses in both government and private medical colleges across India. Moreover, it is mandatory for B.Sc Nursing admissions at Army Nursing Colleges. 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts this exam annually.

The NEET exam for the academic year 2024-25 will be conducted in 13 languages, including Tamil, English, and Hindi, on May 5th. 

The application process commenced yesterday and will continue until March 9th, accessible via the website

The NEET exam fee stands at Rs 1,700 for the General category, Rs 1,600 for the Backward Category, and Rs 1,000 for SC/ST candidates, with additional charges for GST and service fees. 

Notably, each student is required to apply only once.

The NEET exam duration is 3 hours and 20 minutes, with results expected to be announced on June 14th.
