As we have  already said, there are numerous opportunities in the field of Biotechnology for those who are interested in Postgraduation and Research activities rather than for persons who have just completed a degree.  If there are campus interviews in the college where your son is studying, and if he is selected, then there is no problem. As you have indicated,  if your son is an average student, there is no guarantee that doing M.Sc will help him secure a job.  Hence, prepare him to take up competitive examinations to secure bank and other similar jobs. Studying M.Sc and obtaining 50-60% marks, without the required skill will not provide him with a job.  Keeping this in mind, take a decision.  In todays scenario with mere qualifications, one cannot get a job.  Only your skills will speak for you. Develop additional skills when you are not strong in subject.  It is wise to act so.
