Anna Varsity VC says learning science in mother tongue good for better understanding- 12-Feb-2019

Chennai: Anna University, Vice Chancellor, MK Surappa has come out open that learning science and technology in mother tongue till class X will facilitate students to groom up into better engineers.

He quoted that learning science and technology in mother tongue was the success reason for countries like Germany, France, and Japan. Students understand the concept much better in their mother tongue.

Speaking to journalists while making an announcement regarding the 18th edition of ‘Tamil Internet conference’ that is to be held from 20 to 22 September, 2019.

To be organised by the university in collaboration with International Forum of Information Technology in Tamil (INFITT), the main theme of the conference is Tamil Robotics and Language Processing.

This theme will encourage the development of assistive technologies in Tamil to help differently abled to interact, learn, teach and perform their day to day activities in smooth manner.

Apart from this, the conference will accept papers in areas such as natural language processing, computer aided learning & teaching of Tamil, Tamil Internet, search engines & big data analysis, digital libraries, web development & content management in Tamil.
