< face="Times New Roman" size=3>Aerospace engineering covers the study of aeronautic and spacecraft engineering. It is a specialized field applying the knowledge gained from study of aeronautics and astronautics. Aerospace engineers design, analyse, model, simulate, and test aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, missiles, and rockets. Aerospace technology extends to many other applications of objects moving with in gases or liquids.

< face="Times New Roman" size=3>They often use computer-aided design (CAD) software, robotics, and lasers and advanced electronic optics. They also may specialize in a particular type of aerospace products such as commercial transports, military fighter jets, helicopters, spacecraft, or missiles and rockets. They may be experts in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, celestial mechanics, propulsion, acoustics, or guidance and control systems.

< face="Times New Roman" size=3>Aerospace engineers are responsible for designing vehicles which have a low resistance to air and greater efficiency with regard to fuel consumption. Other than IITs, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology offers courses such as B.Tech Space Technology (Avionics), B.Tech Space Technology (Aerospace Engineering). Amrita University, Coimbatore also offers B.Tech Aerospace Engineering.
