I want to know whether the Central Government has announced any scholarships for minorities?- 17-Nov-2008
Yes, the Central Government has released a statement concerning this. This is framed on the 15-point programme of Prime Minsters Minority Scheme, Prime Ministers 15-point programme for the Welfare of Minorities. In this scholarship 30% is allotted for Girl students. The Central Government has given its consent regarding this.
The students studying UG or PG in Engineering and Technology are eligible for this scholarship. Earlier, this scholarships were given to 17,182 minority students. Further, 20,000 more students can receive this scholarships. The Central Government has proposed to provide this assistance from 11th standard upto Ph.D studies.
The Central Government has released to provide Rs.15 lac scholarship to minorities before the 11th five-year plan. This scholarship would bear Admission fees and Training expenses, and part of the scholarships will be given towards the training cost incurred for the admission in Technical studies. Hence, please carefully check the announcement in the Newspapers.
