Indian Institute Remote Sensing at Dehradun functioning under the ambit of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) offers short term certificate courses for school students.

Established in the year 1966, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing is operational with the primary objective of providing quality education and training in science through Remote Sensing and Geo-information Science.

The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) - is a constituent unit of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Since its establishment in 1966, IIRS is a key player for training and capacity building in geospatial technology and its applications through training, education and research.  

Remote Sensing and Geo-information Science have become key technology tools for the collection, storage and analysis of spatially referenced data for resource planning and decision making.

In an effort to create awareness among school students about 'Remote Sensing Technology', it provides online certificate summer programmes.

The online summer school on Usefulness of Remote Sensing & GIS for Environmental Studies will be conducted by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun.

Course Details: The course is for 5 days from 26 to 30 July. It has 2 sessions to log in one at 10:00 AM and another at 12:00 Noon. Each session will be of 45 minutes with subject experts or scholars handling the class. Classes will be a live session through, the official IIRS youtube channel. Students can clarify doubts through the chat box.           

Certificates: Students answering more than 55% of the questions asked between classes will be appreciated with an online certificate.

Indian students studying in class X, XI and XII can apply for the course.
