GRE as it is popularly called is Graduate Record Examination for those willing to carry out Post Graduate or Research studies in select educational institutions in US and few other foreign countries.  

This exam, GRE, is conducted by the Education Testing Service (ETS). Based on the GRE scores students admissions are carried out in over thousands of education institutions across several countries including US and UK

Students willing to study Management, Law and other professional courses need to take up GRE general.  Apart from GRE general, exams are also being conducted based on Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Literature, Mathematics and Psychology.    

GRE General:

The GRE General Test features question types that closely reflect the kind of thinking you'll do in graduate and professional school, including business and law.

GRE general comprises verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing.

Verbal Reasoning
Measures the ability to analyze and draw conclusions from discourse, reason from incomplete data, understand multiple levels of meaning, such as literal, figurative and authors intent, summarize text, distinguish major from minor points, understand the meanings of words, sentences and entire texts, and understand relationships among words and among concepts. There is an emphasis on complex verbal reasoning skills.

Quantitative Reasoning
Measures the ability to understand, interpret and analyze quantitative information, solve problems using mathematical models, and apply the basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis. There is an emphasis on quantitative reasoning skills.

Analytical Writing
Measures critical thinking and analytical writing skills, including the ability to articulate and support complex ideas with relevant reasons and examples, and examine claims and accompanying evidence. There is an emphasis on analytical writing skills.

Test duration:
Total duration of the test is 3 hours and 45 minutes

Test centres:  This examination is held over 1000 centres in 160 nations with over 5 lakh students taking it up each year.

Test pattern: This examination can be taken up either computer or paper based, depending on the desire and convenience of the students.
Computer based examination can be taken up once in every 21 days and 5 times in a calendar year. Paper based examinations can be taken any number of times. Scores obtained through this examination are valid for 5 years.

During this pandemic time exam dates are announced based on governments announcements on the protocols to be followed.
