Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar
Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar is amongst the eight new IITs to become operational. The Institute with 40 students in each disciplines of Computer Science, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering started running from its mentor institute campus at IIT Delhi from 23 July, 2008. The temporary campus for IIT Ropar is set up with all the facilities as required. Class rooms fitted with multimedia, faculty rooms administrative wing are all in place. There are three hostels; two for boys and one for girls equipped with modern messing units in place and operational. Faculty recruitment, creation of laboratories and other support facilities are in full swing. The Institute is operating from the transit campus at Ropar from this session and has started the classes from 18th August 2009.
