Smt.Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, Minster for Social Justice and Empowerment, at the inaugural function of the ‘Speaking Library’ project at Nirmala College, Coimbatore said:
The Central Government has formulated and executed many plans for the welfare of the physically handicapped. While the other handicapped persons can see and enjoy the modern equipments, the visually handicapped is deprived of this pleasure. Hence, the Government shows greater care on them.
The physically handicapped do not expect any sympathy from others; instead, they wish to be treated on par with others and thereby rise their life-style. The ‘Speaking Library’ will satisfy their wish.
The central Governement has decided to start special SHGs for the physically handicapped. 5 persons can form a group. The Government will support them financially to begin small scale induztries and help to market the products.
Of late, in Tamilnadu, the number of successes in the IAS, IPS is steadily decreasing. To assuage this deficiency, the Bharathiar University , Coimbatore, with the help of the Central Government, has set up free IAS coaching centres.
Such centres will be started througout Tamilnadu to help coaching the students. The Minister can only give orders; but, the Collector alone has the power to implement the plan. So, the students must try to pass the IAS examinations to become a Collector.
The prevalent view is that it is difficult to pass successfully the IAS examinations. Wrong directions and lack of adequate training make those students who take this exam fail. To become an IAS is not difficult. With good planning and training, one can easily win this awesome exam.
